1. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE
HANDLING OF THE SANDER
You will find the GENERAL SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS leaflet with the docu-
mentation. Read this carefully before
using the sander.
1. Before connecting the machine to the electricity
supply, ensure that the current is the same as that
specified on the characteristics plate.
2. For your own safety, keep your hands away from the
area in which you are working.
Do not hold the underside of the machine when it is
switched on.
3. Check the surface to be sanded for nails and, before
commencing work, remove any that are there.
4. Disconnect the machine from the mains before carrying
out any maintenance work.
5. Never put down an electric tool until its moving parts
have come to a complete stop.
6. Never use the sander where there is liquid, or in very
damp conditions.
7. If you use adhesive sanding discs, it is a good idea to
remove the disc as soon as you have finished working,
since it may be difficult to do so after a number of days
have passed. Do not attempt to re-stick a used adhesive
disc to the pad, as the reduced stickiness may cause the

disc to come undone and therefore be a danger to the
user. Check that the pad is clean before putting on a
new adhesive disc.
8. Dust produced during sanding may be toxic or hazar-
dous to your health (for example, leaded paints, some
types of wood and metal). We recommend that you
always use the dust collector connection.
9. SPARE PARTS: Use only original VIRUTEX spare parts.
