    ASSEMBLING Handle Pull up the handle in direction of the arrow. With the handle in up-turned position, tighten the wing-nuts. MONTAGE Manche Déployez le manche dans la direction de la flèche. Une fois le manche déployé, serrez les écrous à oreilles.
  • Page 10 To Attach Grass Catcher • Lift the rear door (1) on the lawn mower housing and place the grass catcher frame onto the rear door. • The grass catcher is secured to the lawn mower housing when the rear door is low ered onto the grass catcher frame.

    Adjustment The mower can be set to different cutting levels. All wheels must be in the same height positions, otherwise uneven cutting will result.     Starting and Stopping Place the mower on a flat surface. Note: not on gravel or similar. Fill the tank with petrol, not oil-blended. Do not fill with petrol while the engine is running. • Hold engine brake yoke to the handle and pull on starter handle quickly.
  • Page 15 Drive Forward drive is engaged (1) and disengaged (2) with the gear shift lever (3) at the top of the handle. The farther toward the handle the lever is pulled, the faster the unit will travel. NOTE: If after releasing the drive control the mower will not roll backwards, push the mower forward slightly to disengage drive wheels.

  • Page 17 Mow the lawn twice weekly during the most active periods of growth. Never cut more than 1/3 of the length of the MAX 1/3 grass, especially during dry periods. Mow with a high cutting height setting the first time. Examine the result and lower the mower to the desired setting.

    Maintenance Always remove the spark plug lead before repair, cleaning or main te nance work. After 5 hours running time, tighten screws and nuts. Check the oil. The spark plug must be at the highest point on the mower when it is tilted up.
  • Page 19 Annually (After end of season) Grinding and balancing the cutter blade. Remove the spark plug lead. Fitting and removing the blade require the use of protective gloves. Unscrew the cutter blade and deliver it to a service workshop for grinding and balancing.
  • Page 20 NOTE: Before tipping mower to drain oil, drain fuel tank by running engine until fuel tank is empty. Change oil after each season or after 25 hours running time. Run the engine warm, remove the spark plug lead. Remove the dipstick and drain oil. Fill with new oil.
  • Page 21 Cleaning of air filter. Slacken the screw, remove the lid and remove the filter cartridge. Your engine will not run properly and may be damaged by using a dirty air filter. Replace the air filter every year, more often if you mow in very dusty, dirty conditions.
  • Page 22 Over time, ground speed may decrease. Adjust as follows: • Rotate nut (1) on the underside of the housing to tighten cable. Ground speed should increase.
