light and the black wire on the licence plate illuminator, twist the stripped ends together and fit
one female bullet connector over the two wires before crimping, as shown in picture 47.
Repeat the process above to connect the yellow wire on the tail light with the red wire on the
licence plate illuminator.
The remaining red wire on the licence plate illuminator also needs a female bullet connector
fitted.
With the bullet connectors already fitted onto the three wires of the OEM loom, connect the
wiring connectors as follows. Connect the brown wire from the loom to the connector with the
black wires. Connect the red/grey wire from the loom to the connector with the yellow & red
wires. Connect the remaining black/grey wire from the loom to the connector with the red
wire. Alternatively, these same connections could be soldered and protected with heat-shrink
supplied.
Re-connect the indicator connectors and use any remaining cable ties and self-adhesive cable
clips (item 3) if necessary to neatly organise the wiring, before reconnecting the rear loom
connector to the main loom underneath the ECU, as shown in picture 51. Ensure that this wire
along with the wiring extension is positioned over the top of the cross brace on the rear sub-
frame, as shown in picture 49.
Re-fit the ECU into place along with the plastic cover on top, locating the two tabs at the rear
and the push rivet at the front, as shown in pictures 3, 4 & 52.
It is advisable at this stage to check for the correct operation of all lights.
With the wires clear of the locking mechanism, re-fit the riders seat, along with the pillion seat
or seat hump, as shown in picture 53 and secure using the original bolt as shown in picture 54.
Ensure the tail tidy is securely mounted and all bolts are fully tightened.
Re-fit the licence plate (it may require drilling).
Depending on local laws, attach enclosed reflector in an appropriate location.
Test the license plate illuminator and all lights before riding.
