Pannier Attachement
There is an upper and lower pannier mounting rail on the rack which allow a variety of pannier mounting options (Figure 3).

Take note of the following while choosing a pannier mounting location:
• Interference with other cargo:
– If a child seat is mounted to the rack, the lower rear pannier mounting position will enable panniers to be mounted
at the same time.
– If a trailercycle is being used, mount the panniers low so that they do not interfere with the trailercycle hitch boom.
– The side rear water bottle mounts will be obscured if the pannier is mounted on the rear of the rack.
• Mount panniers in a location that provides adequate heel clearance for your pedaling stroke. Small panniers will allow mounting
at the front of the rack without heel clearance issues
• Pannier loads can interfere with the rear derailleur depending on setup. Avoid interference between panniers and the rear
derailleur on the drive side of the bike. Improper loading can damage the derailleur and/or make shifting impossible
• Avoid interference between the bottom of the pannier and the rear derailleur on the drive side of the bike. Improper loading
can damage the derailleur and/or make shifting impossible
• The small buttons welded to the bottom of the lower rack tube are there to retain a bungee style pannier hook
• Some rare panniers will have difficulty mounting on the lower rail because the pannier hook will not fit between the upper
and lower rail during install. The distance between the upper and lower rail is 60mm
WARNING: Make sure your load is evenly balanced and secure before every ride (i.e. no loose straps to get caught
in the wheels).
Child Seat Compatability
The Skid Loader rack is designed to be compatible with the Thule Yepp Maxi Nexxt, Thule Yepp Maxi EasyFit, and Burley Dash
child seats.
The Thule Yepp Maxi Nexxt and Burley Dash seats mount to the outside rails of the rack deck. Review child seat rack requirements
and critical seat-mounting dimensions (Figure 4) carefully to ensure the Skid Loader rack complies with all requirements.
