Round Peg Instructions
Hi there. Thanks for spending your hard-earned cash on this Surly product. Surly stuff is designed to be useful and durable.
We're confident it will serve you well for years to come.
Read these instructions completely before beginning installation of this product. Have your local professional bicycle mechanic
perform the installation if you lack the knowledge or tools to perform installation correctly.
WARNING:

Cycling can be dangerous. Bicycle products should be installed and serviced by a professional mechanic. Never modify
your bicycle or accessories. Read and follow all product instructions and warnings including information on the
manufacturer's website. Inspect your bicycle before every ride. Always wear a helmet.

User may come into contact with Round Pegs while operating a standard kickstand from certain positions. To minimize
potential contact with Round Pegs during kickstand use, operate the kickstand while standing beside the bicycle.
•
Check with your bicycle's manufacturer to verify proper fit, mounting points, bicycle cargo load capacity, and
compatibility for carrying cargo. Do not exceed the bicycle manufacturer permissible load
•
Make sure your load is evenly balanced and secure before every ride (i.e. no loose straps to get caught in the wheels)

Intended Use
Surly Round Pegs are intended to be used as a footrest for forward facing seated passengers.
WARNING:
•
Do not allow passengers to sit in a rearward facing position. Passengers may come into contact with or become
entrapped in the rear wheel, causing serious injury to the passenger and resulting in a crash.
•
Do not allow passengers to ride while standing on the foot pegs. Passengers may come into contact with moving
parts or the operator, leading to a crash and serious injury.
Surly Round Pegs are only intended for use with Surly Longtail Cargo Frames. Do not modify pegs for use with other frames.
Compatibility
Surly Round Pegs are intended to only be used only with Surly Longtail Cargo Frames; Big Dummy, Big Fat Dummy, Big Easy.

  • Page 2 2. Rotate Surly Round Peg so that push-pin is facing the front of the bike. Using your thumb, press push-pin down so that it is flush with the Round Peg tube. Insert the smooth end of the Round Peg into the horizontal frame tube.
