Installation
1. Locate the horizontal frame tube in front of the rear wheel on your Surly Longtail Cargo frame. Remove plastic cap if necessary
and make sure inside of tube is clear of any debris. If using a Surly dual-legged kickstand, make sure the kickstand is in the
down position, holding the bike upright.
2. Rotate Surly Round Peg so that push-pin is facing the front of the bike. Using your thumb, press push-pin down so that it is
flush with the Round Peg tube. Insert the smooth end of the Round Peg into the horizontal frame tube.
CAUTION: Push-pin needs to face front of bike for proper install. If push-pin is facing upward, it is at risk of getting
caught inside a vertical frame tube. In case of improper install, remove the longtail deck by loosening the hardware that
secures the deck rails in place. Use a long-handled t-wrench to press down on the push-pin and remove Round Peg from
the frame. Reinstall with the push-pin facing the front of the bicycle.
3. Align Round Peg so that the push-pin extends through horizontal frame tube. When engaged properly, Push Pin will make an
audible click as it passes through the frame tube. This may require slight rotation or alignment adjustment to assure proper
engagement. Confirm correct placement with a visual and physical inspection of the horizontal frame tube to assure push pin
extends out of the frame. When properly engaged, Round Pegs will not be able to rotate, push in, or pull out of the frame.
4. Repeat this process with second Round Peg on the other side of the frame.
For Removal, press push-pin into horizontal frame tube and pull Round Peg away from the bicycle frame.
