Method B—Installing from the front of the
appliance
Method B—Overview
1. Remove the fireplace's front and trim and set aside.
(Refer to the front's installation instructions).
2. Shut off the gas supply to the fireplace and
disconnect the gas supply line from the burner
module.
3. Remove the window unit.
4. Remove the fuel bed and the liner panels from the
firebox.
5. Remove the log support (4 screws) and the burner
module (12 screws).
NOTE
Ensure that the metal base of the gas fireplace
enclosure is evenly supported. If the metal base
can flex up and down, it may be a source of
vibration noise when the fan unit is in operation.
Not is the time to correct this.
6. Fit the fan mounting plate to the inside back wall of
the fan compartment, aligning with the 2 holes in
the back of the firebox and fasten with the 2 sheet
metal screws provided.
7. Place the fan unit on the fan mounting plate. Ensure
that the fastening stud on the mount lies between
the support legs of the fan and that the fan is pushed
tight against the tabs on the mounting plate.
8. Fit the fan retaining clamp between the fan legs and
push it all the way under the tab at the back of
the mounting plate placing the front end over the
threaded stud. Bring the retaining clamp slightly
forward to avoid the offset contacting the mounting
bracket.

9. Fasten the retaining clamp with the wing nut and
washer provided.
10. Connect the thermal switch to the fan speed control
box.
