measuring and testing equipment.

Remark : the system is not working properly if the values deviate by more than 50% from those measured the
first/previous time.
Visual inspection :general condition
Do all the moveable parts work easily ?
Are there any parts that hang loosely or rattle when the bed is moved ?
Are there any scraping or grinding noises when the bed is moved ?
Are there any rusted parts ?
Are the bed base, head and foot of the bed, backrest, seat, foot rest, bracket and castors twisted ?
Are there any visible tears to the load-bearing components ?
Are the motor supports intact or free from other visible signs of deterioration ?
Have the side rails been altered ? Have they deteriorated or lost their shape ?
Are the side rails easy to replace ?
Do the castors turn easily and are the brakes working ?
Is the plastic housing over the actuators damaged ?
Is the transformer housing still firmly attached to the motor of the head-raising device ?
Are all the covers intact, tear-free and firmly attached ?
Are the plug and the inner compartment (cover plate at the upper end of the head) free from signs of corrosion and tears
?
Is the lifting pole free from corrosion and tears ?
Are the triangle and flange intact and tear-free ? Are all the loops present and intact ?
Overall function check
Do the side rails firmly engage into position when raised and can be released again if lifted up a little?
Do the side rails support a vertical force of 75 kg ?
Once the side rails have been clicked into position, is there a maximum vertical gap of 10 mm ?
Check that the deviation between the two tubes (Paris) and the two plates (Milano) has not been modified and is still less
than 120 mm ?
Actuator function check
Drive through the complete the adjustment positions until the actuators completely stop and check the actuator range
(variable height 400 to 800 mm, 110 mm for the head rest, 39 mm for the foot rest)
Noise level, speed ?
Does the stopping device work when all the actuators have reached the end of the range ?
Maximum intensity value less than 1 A ?
Is the backup-battery charged enough?
Do the actuators of the height adjustment reach the highest position/incline under max. load in less than 3 seconds
distance?
Mains cable
Is the main cable intact ?
Check the function and condition of the anti-traction system on the mains cable (see figure 16) and the plug.
All cables
Check that the O-ring sealing rings on the plug are present and in good condition.
Check that the plastic covers and plugs are intact (no flaws, crushing, tears, etc.) ; spiral sections not stretched.
Check that the positioning and attachment of the cables is consistent with the cable installation technique (see chapter
6.5) ?
Hand control unit and blocking device
All buttons are moving smoothly and do not stick?
System is blocked in locked position?
System does not work in position I and II
Documentation
Are the instructions for use available ?
Are all the adhesive labels firmly attached and legible ?
Furthermore, for safety reasons, the following measurements must be recorded every five years :
• Change of the lifting pool ;
• Careful check of all actuators (no evidence of cable and connection deterioration, noise level).
Change of the backup battery every 2 years.
