WORK AREA SAFETY

• Do not use this machine in explosive atmospheres, in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
• The area within a radius of 15 meters around the machine must be considered a risk zone in which no one must
enter while the machine is in operation (safety zone).
• Use tape and warning signs to mark the safety zone as necessary.
• When the work is carried out simultaneously by two or more people keep a sufficient distance to ensure safety.
• Keep the work area clean and only in a well lit area.
ELECTRICAL SHOCK, GASES AND FIRES SAFETY
• Never touch the electrical parts. Electric shocks can kill you.
• Wear clean, dry and well-insulated clothing and gloves.
• Isolate the work circuit and ground terminal using a dry insulator. Make sure that the insulation is sufficient to
protect it completely from all physical contact with the terminals.
• Be careful when using the equipment in very small places or in wet areas.
• Never turn off the power supply of the equipment before installation and adjustment. Make sure to install the
equipment correctly and connect it to the ground terminal safely.
• The working circuits and the electrode will increase the temperature when the welder is on. Avoid contact with
these parts with unprotected or wet hands. Use dry gloves to isolate your hands.
• The electrode, the wire spool, the welding head, and the welding nozzle or torch in semiautomatic or automatic
welding, will also be hot.
• Always make sure that the work cable has a good electrical connection to the metal that is welding. The
connection must be as close as possible to the area where it is being welded.
• Keep the electrode holder, work clamp, welding cable and welding equipment in good condition to ensure safe
operation. Replace the insulation if it is damaged.
• Never immerse the electrode in water to cool it.
• Never touch the hot parts of the electrode holders connected to two welding devices simultaneously because the
voltage between the two can be the total of the no-load voltage of both devices.
• When working at height, use a safety belt to protect yourself from a fall in the event of a possible electric shock.
• Fumes and gases can be dangerous. Avoid breathing these fumes and gases. During welding, keep away from
fumes and gases. Use a ventilation and/or extraction system near the arc to keep fumes and gases away from
the breathing zone.
• Arc rays can cause burns. Use a face shield with proper filter and cover to protect your eyes from sparks and arc
rays when welding or when open arc welding is observed.
• Welding sparks can cause fires and explosions. Avoid the risk of fire and have a fire extinguisher handy.
• When not welding, make sure that no part of the electrode circuit touches the workpiece or ground terminal.
Accidental contact can cause overheating and cause a fire.
• Do not heat, cut or weld in tanks, drums or containers until you have taken the necessary measures to ensure that
such procedures will not cause flammable or toxic fumes. These substances can cause an explosion. Vent hollow
castings or containers before heating, cutting or welding.
• Connect the cable as close as possible to the welding area.
MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE SAFETY
• Check that all safety elements are installed and in good condition.
• Do not force this machine or modify the controls.
• Before making any adjustments or repairing the machine, stop it and disconnect it completely.
• Carry out periodic maintenance of the machine. We recommend that maintenance and repairs not described in
this manual be carried out by the Authorised Technical Service.
