Press the adjustment lock (Item 3) until the teeth of the
additional handle can meet the teeth of the adjustment
lock. Then release the adjustment lock and secure the
additional handle. Make sure that the compartment for
the spare blades (Item 12) faces the top of the equip-
ment.
Adjusting the additional handle (Fig. 11)
Press the adjustment lock (Item 3) for the additional han-
dle until it can be moved forwards and backwards with-
out any great resistance. Set the required position and
release the adjustment lock again.
Adjusting the angle of tilt of the guide handle (Fig. 12)
Press the button for the angle of tilt adjustment (Item 15).
Now you can set the long handle to the required tilt. Re-
lease the button and allow the handle to lock into position
to fix the angle of tilt. Seven different locking angles are
possible.
Installing the battery (Fig. 13/14)
Press the side pushlock buttons of the battery pack as
shown in Fig. 13 and push the battery pack into the
mount provided. When the battery pack is positioned as
in Fig. 14, make sure that the pushlock buttons latch in
place! To remove the battery pack, proceed in reverse
order.
Charging the battery (Fig. 15)
• Take the battery pack out of the equipment. Do this by
pressing the pushlock button.
• Check that your mains voltage is the same as that
marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. In-
sert the power plug of the charger (10) into the mains
socket outlet. The green light on the plug-in charging
device illuminates.
• Connect the charging set to the charging station using
the jack plug of the charging set with the socket on the
rear of the charging station.
• The battery charging process now begins and is sig-
nalled by the red indicator light on the charging device
(10).
• Once the rechargeable battery has been fully charged,
the indicator light on charging device (10) changes
from red to green.
• Charging takes approx. 3-5 hours. The battery heats
up during the charging process. This is normal and
does not signal a fault. Remove the rechargeable bat-
tery after no more than 5 hours.
Note: Occasionally, the permissible temperature range
may be exceeded during the charging cycle. In this case,
the electronic charging control interrupts the charging cy-
cle to avoid any damage to the battery. The read control
light will then glow continuously. If you should witness
this, pull the battery from the charging station and let it
cool down for about 30 minutes. Then, restart the charg-
ing cycle by sliding the battery back onto the charging
station.
• It is not required to monitor the charging time.
• Pull the plug of the charging unit if it is not in use.
GB | Operating Instructions

Note! The battery (11) will not reach its full capacity when
charged for the first time. The red light illuminates until
the charging device (10) is disconnected from the mains.
Multiple charging cycles may be required in order to
reach the maximum charge.
Note: The battery is equipped with a deep-discharge
protection feature: the tool is automatically switched off
if the battery is discharged. Recharge the battery imme-
diately if this should be the case.
Thermal and voltage protection
If the tool is subject to excessively high loads for an ex-
tended period, the rechargeable battery may switch off.
If this occurs leave the battery to cool down for approx.
30 minutes.
