1.2 The contents of this manual

This manual describes the operation of the twisted pair video receivers and transmitters, with the specific
installation procedures. Read this manual carefully, especially the section regarding safety rules, before
installing and using the device.

1.3 Typographical conventions

This manual makes use of various graphics symbols, the meaning of which is summarised as follows:

2 Safety rules

The transmitters and receivers comply with current legislation and standards regarding electrical safety,
electromagnetic compatibility and general requirements in force at the time of this manual's publication.
Nevertheless, for the users' safety (installer technicians and operators) the following warnings are specified in
order to work in maximum safety:
• Connect the system to a power supply line that corresponds to the indications on the data plate (see the next
section Identification data). When using the passive transmitter TWP, do not supply power to the device.
• Disconnect the power supply (excluded TWP) before moving the appliance or carrying out any technical
work on it
• Do not use power cables with signs of wear or ageing, since they could expose the users to serious safety
hazards
• The appliance (and the entire system of which it is a part) must be installed by suitably skilled, authorised
personnel
• The appliance must only be opened by authorised, skilled personnel. Tampering with the appliance will
invalidate the terms of the guarantee
• Do not use the appliance in the presence of inflammable substances
• Do not allow children or incompetent persons to use the appliance
• Make sure the appliance is fixed firmly and safely
• The appliance is to be considered OFF only when the power supply (excluded TWP) is disconnected and
the connection cables to other devices have been removed
• For technical services, refer only and exclusively to authorised personnel
• Keep this manual carefully for future consultation
