Lightning protection

If a lightning protection system is already
provided, the local contractor must include the
collector casing, the mounting frame and the
pipe in the lightning protection system.
Collector casing
Use the hole drilled in the upper sheet-metal
cover to integrate the SOL 23 plus collector in
the lightning protection system.
Pipeline
Connect the pipe in close proximity to the
collector (over the roof) using pipe clamps
(watch out for corrosion).
Mounting frame
Connect the mounting frame separately to the
lightning protection equipment using screw or
clamp connections.

2.10 Connecting the collectors

Method:
The collector connections are at the top of the
collector.
Transport the collectors on to the roof
as instructed in Section 2.3. Under no
circumstances may the ends of the pipes be
used to attach ropes.
The compensator is used to connect

the collectors (17 08 04). Once the collector
connection has been installed, apply thermal
insulation (to be provided on site). Make an
appropriate cut at the side and seal again with
adhesive after assembly.
Coat the collector sensor with heat-conducting
paste and push it into the sensor well as far as
it will go.
Once the connections have been fitted, never
twist or readjust them in any way.
Have the lightning protection system

installed by a local contractor (Section 2.10).
Immediately after installation in accordance
with Section 2.13, fill the system with WF-30 L
and commission it after carrying out the
pressure test (Section 2.14).
