DANGER
Risk of fatal injuries due to electric shock.
Î Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the wall chaser.
2
Use the open-ended spanner SW17 (4) to
hold the drive shaft (3).
2
Use the second open-ended spanner
SW19 (1) to undo the cutter (2) in its running
direction and to unscrew it from the drive
shaft (3).
3
An aluminium plain washer (2) is included
with each cutter to make the cutters (1) easier to
undo. This plain washer (2) is inserted between
the cutter (1) and shaft (3).
NOTE
The plain washers are subjected to wear and must
be replaced more frequently.
2
Screw the new cutter (2) together with the
plain washer by hand, against the running direc-
tion, onto the drive shaft (3) and tighten slightly.
The cutting teeth must point in the running
direction.
5.2

Adjusting the cutting depth

4
The cutting depth, defined by the cutter
diameter, can be changed by 12 mm by adjust-
ing the front roller (1).
4
Use an open-ended spanner SW13 to undo
the two cap nuts (2) on the axle of the front
roller (1).
4
Set the required depth and re-tighten the two
cap nuts (2).
NOTE
When cutting or chasing hard rock, it is often bet-
ter to set the maximum cutting/chasing depth to
achieve an optimum result.
cAUTION
Damage to the cutting shaft due to over-worn cut-
ter.
Î Cutters renewed in good time spare the shaft
and ensure the maximum cutting depth.

connect dust extractor

5
Remove the plastic cap (1), which closes off
the extractor cover (2), before connecting the
dust extractor.
Check the dust extractor function.
6
Push the dust extractor hose (1) firmly onto
the socket (3) of the dust extractor cover (2).
6
The socket (3) is designed for the suction
hose of the BAIER special dust extractor.
NOTE
Greater effort may be required to push on the
suction hose in cold ambient temperatures.
5.4
Switching on the wall chaser
and cutting
cAUTION
Damage to the cutter and the gearbox due to un-
steadily guided chaser.
Ensure you are in a good, stable position when
working. Risk of kickback, especially when
working in hard rock. In this way, you also pre-
vent "dancing" of the machine, which can lead
to damage to cutters and the gearbox.
7
Always hold onto the wall chaser with both
hands on the handles (2) / (4).
7
Position the front roller (1) on the wall – the
cutter must not touch the masonry, etc.
7
Use your thumb to press in (A) the safety
button (5).
7
The wall chaser is switched on – with the
safety button (5) pressed – by using the balls of
your hand to press the control handle (4) in the
cutting direction of the wall chaser (B).
Immerse the running cutter into the masonry.
7
As soon as the rear roller (3) touches the
masonry, push and guide the wall chaser in the
direction  of the planned chase.
