Lights
radio communication systems in exceptional cases. Please en-
sure a sufficient distance between the navigation lights and radio
antennas or radio communication devices.
In accordance with EN 14744 it must be ensured that the
navigation and signal lamps are partially made from magnetic
materials.
Corresponding to EN 60945, do not install the navigation and
signal lamps near to a magnetic compass. A minimum protective
distance of 1 m must be complied with.
When normalising / compensating the compass, the operating
states of the navigation and signal lamps must be considered in
accordance with EN 60945.
The navigation lights of the series 60 and 61 are characterized
by a particularly long-lasting technology. Both the LEDs used
and the dimensioning of the operating electronics or their com-
ponents are designed for longevity and maximum reliability.
The life expectancy of the LED used can be ensured with
100.000 operating hours at ambient temperature ta=45°C and
still air according to the internationally recognized IES TM-21
method for determining the LED life.
If the end of life time for the LED is reached and the prescribed
minimum operating range falls below, the navigation light will
switch off automatically in comparison to a burnt incandescent
lamp. The navigation lights monitoring detects the status
change of the navigation lights and generates a warning on the
bridge in optical and/or acoustic form.
