PUREval MX-G

1.6 Specific safety and work instructions

The PUREval MX-G ion-exchange column is only suitable for technical applications. Do not use the
system to process liquids for human consumption.
Please observe the manufacturer-specific safety data sheets for the ion-exchange resin and for all
acids and alkalis that you use to operate the system.
The borosilicate glass used for the ion exchange column corresponds to acid resistance class
1 in accordance with DIN 12 116 and alkali resistance class 2 in accordance with DIN ISO 695.
Hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and strong bases when temperatures> 100°C occur
at the same time can damage the glass surface.
The ion-exchange column must not be opened or dismantled during operation. The column must not
be opened without first releasing pressure.
Protect the column from direct sunlight and mechanical damage. Do not use near sources of heat or
open flames.
When using drinking water from the pipe network, a safety fitting must be installed on the inlet
connection in accordance with the European standard DIN EN 1717.
If the water pressure on the inlet side is greater than 2.5 bar, a pressure reducer must be installed in
front of the ion exchange column.
To avoid contamination by particles, we recommend installing a filter <100 μm in front of the ion
exchange column.
All parts must be installed in accordance with the country-specific guidelines. The ion exchange
column must be operated within the specified ambient temperatures.
Beware of frost: after commissioning, storage and transport of water-filled systems below 4 ° C
should be avoided. Frost can destroy the system.
The liquids treated with the ion-exchange column must be disposed of in accordance with the
manufacturer's specifications and local regulations.
It is assumed that glass laboratory equipment is used in the normal manner in accordance with "good
laboratory practice".
The operating personnel may only operate the ion-exchange column with suitable protective
equipment.
