electric connections are protected from inundation. Protect the plug and
power cable from heat, oil or sharp edges. Estrad holds no resposibility
for damage(s), in every which way, caused by unskilled use or gross
negligence by user/installer.
It is absolutely necessary to use a person safety switch, also called Fi-
switch. If there is cabledamage or cable rupture, you have to remove the
pump immediately from the mains. Using pumps with a damaged cable is
prohibited!
Overload protection
The Red Devil pumps have a built-in electronic protection against overload.
If the magnetic anchor blocks, the motor will be switched off. By simply
pulling the plug out of the mains and putting it back again, a reset is given.
Make sure you eliminated the cause of the impellerblockage.
Maintanance
Be sure the pump is disconnected from the electric power supply, before
performing maintenance operation. The pressure and flowpumps of the
Red Devil-series require hardly any maintenance. By
normal use, the maintenance is restricted by checking
if the impeller has no blockages. Remove possible
depositions on/in the impeller with a narrow pointlike (not
too sharp) pressure. Avoid sideways pressure on the
impeller. The impelleraxle is made of ceramic, therefore
extremely hard, but also brittle. Replacement axles or
impellerunits are available. For cleaning, you can only
partial dismount the pump. Under no circumstances,
you should dismount the motor from its housing. Only in
seawaterconditions, the pump should be unlimed on a
regular basis:
With a 5mm imbustool you can remove the 4
housingscrews by turning them anti-clockwise. Warning:
when you dismount the fourth and last screw, take care
the impellerhousing does not fall on the impeller (danger
of breaking the impelleraxle). After the pumpmaintenance,
you can screw the 4 screws crosswise, fasten them softly,
until the chink between the housing and the pump is no
longer visible. Attention: don't screw them too tight, the
housing is made of synthetic material!
The O-ring of the housing is either made of high quality
silicon or viton, and does not need to be replaced. In salt
water as well, such rings do not lose their flexibility. Silicon
and viton are both acid- and lye-resistant.
With a gentle or a bit more powerful pull, you pull at the
