Operational area
This pump can be used to pump clean as well as dirty water. When pumping
dirty water, you have to use a rough pre-filter (1-2mm). If the pump is mounted
directly in the pond, you have to use the original pre-filter (see picture).
The Red Devil pumps are widely used to run a filter system in a pond or
swimmingpool, or for a watercourse or waterfall. The pump is not self-priming,
but with the help of a so-called flappervalve at the suction pipe, it is mountable
above waterlevel (can be ordered via www.estrad.nl). The pump can handle
salt-/seawater. You need for seawatertreatment the 1.5 meter cable model
with anti-lime-bypass. Please contact us under www.estrad.nl.
Installation
When installing, please ensure the pump is disconnected from electrical
supply. To prevent serious injuries to people, avoid inserting hands/fingers into
the mouth of the pump if it's connected to the mains.
It is absolutely to be avoided letting the pump run dry. Especially when the
pump has been mounted above waterlevel (with the help of a non-return
valve) you have to take special care. When the pump is used in dirty water
you need to use a rough pre-filter. If the pump is mounted directly in the pond,
you have to use the original pre-filter. The installation of a quick closing fitting
in a convenient position facilitates cleaning and maintenance operations.
Furthermore it is recommended to use partially flexible hose instead of totally
fixed mounting, to prevent and reduce vibrations.
The pumps used in ponds, small lakes, fountains or similair installations or
close to them should have a cut-out switch (30mA). If you are in doubt, please
contact a specialised electrician. Estrad BV does not accept any liability for
any physical or material damages, when the pump has not been mounted
according the guidelines.
Electrical connection - Start-up
Verify that the voltage and frequency shown on the pump correspond to those
available on the mains. The installer must make sure that the electric system
is grounded in accordance with the law in force. Make sure that the electric
system has a high-sensitivity circuit breaker (30mA - DIN VDE 0100T739).
Instructions for a safe pumpstart
The power cable should have a minimum section equivalent to that of
H05RNF. To be able to use the pump outdoors, it is necessary to use cable
with a length of 10 m. The plug and connections should be protected by
water splashes. Before using the pump, always inspect it visually (especially
power cable and plug). Do not use the pump if it is damaged. If the pump is
damaged, have it inspected by the customer service only. Make sure thet
