OUTBOARD ENGINE

We do not supply engines, engine accessories, wheels, cables, transmissions, gear boxes or
other articles concerning the engine.
The Certification requires a 40 hp, long-shaft, SOLAS - approved outboard engine. Demand the
SOLAS Certification from the engine sales person.
Refer to the manual of the engine for operation, adjustments and maintenance.
Place the engine in position, correctly centred on the bow-stern axis of the boat. Hand-tighten
the fixing turnstiles of the engine, check and tighten again after a 15 minute-navigation. Caution:
fasten the engine to a steady point in the boat with a line (for example , to the lifting eyes
situated within the transom).
If the engine is definitely fixed to the boat with bolts through the transom, these have to be
carefully sealed in order to avoid water intake and damage of the transom.
For an optimum performance of your engine, the correct height is essential. Most long-shaft
engines can be fitted directly on the transom with the cavitation plate about 10mm under the
bottom of the hull.
Read carefully the instructions regarding your engine.
Maximum authorised power must be used with extreme prudence. It is advisable only for expert
pilots and when using the boat in very particulary conditions (maximum load, etc.).
Fill the fuel tank out of the boat, any spilling on it is harmful.
It is advisable to have some essential tools and accessories to repair eventual breakdowns of
the engine.
