Advantages of frequency filters over spec-
trum analysers
There are time savings by faster setting and
measuring, as the full frequency band of the par-
ticular service is monitored simultaneously and a
broadband observation "at a glance" is possible,
too.
The handling is self-explanatory and therefore
less liable to wrong settings and errors which
would result.
Accuracy
The additional tolerance due to the slightly undu-
lating attenuation over frequency is less than +/- 2
dB, for most of it much less. Correction factors for
special signals (e. g. UMTS/3G or Radar) specific
for the instrument used are to be applied as be-
fore.

How to use

In order to find out the total pollution in a room
within one of the frequency ranges of the filter
please switch to the respective switch position
and proceed according to the manual of your HF
meter.
For measuring the emission of a single HF
source you should use a log.-per. Antenna and
preferably the "peak hold" setting of your instru-
ment. Then measure under moderate panning of
the instrument in the direction of the source for
some seconds in order to obtain valid results.
Why the low pass 1000 MHz and the high pass
1100 MHz?
These two filters permit to separate coarsely
lower frequency sources (mostly still unpulsed
services) from the higher frequency services
(mostly pulsed). The sensitive transition range
(no analogue filter is indefinitely „steep") has
