Assembly of the„piggy-back" arrangement
1. Glue one pair of "Velcros
to the filter upper an lower side (po-
sition as shown!) and pull off the
upper protective film.
2. Now press your HF analyser ex-
actly fitting on to your filter.
3. Screw the connecting plug to both
of them as shown.
How the filter works
The task of the filter is to let pass the frequency
band under investigation without distortions and
to suppress all other frequencies – the more se-
lective the better.
Our FF3 already provides a leading-edge selec-
tivity of 25 to 30 dB
frequency bands. For professional requirements
this is topped by our FF6 and FF6E with a typical
selectivity between the services of 50 dB, up to
1
more than 60 dB
All filters including the Allpass (which lets pass
the whole frequency band of the antenna), are
compensated, i.e. the attenuation of the filter
circuitry is balanced by frequency dependent
amplifiers. Therefore there is no need for addi-
tional correction factors for the filters – the ana-
lyser´s readings may be used as they are. This is
good for two reasons:
It facilitates efficient measurements, and the
filters may remain connected to the instrument
all the time.
Also for long term monitoring of certain sources
by data logger (e.g. of the NFL- or NFA-product
line) the recorded data can be used as they
are.
2
DECT and GSM1800 are directly adjacent. Therefore by the
sheer physical constraints of analog technology our filters
achieve about half of that discrimination.
