1. Layout (Fig. 1-3)
1 Setting wheel / ON/OFF switch
2 LED indicator
3 Sensor area for voltages
4 Sensor area for metal
5 Cover
6 Clip connector for 9V block battery
2. Important information
Never attempt to manipulate the electronic
circuitry of the metal and voltage detector in any
way. Otherwise the device may no longer work in
the intended way.
Note that the device needs to be held differently
depending on whether you are trying to locate
metal or a voltage, and that it also has an
indicated maximum detection range.
Make sure that you replace the batteries in good
time, as otherwise there is a risk that the
measurement results may be inaccurate.
Please note that a buildup of electrostatic charge
on the surface or any other nearby source of
electromagnetic interference can cause incorrect
measurement results.
3. Operation (Fig. 1-3)
To switch on:
Turn the setting wheel (1) clockwise until you hear a
clicking noise. The LED indicator (2) will come on.
To switch off:
Turn the setting wheel (1) counterclockwise until you
hear a clicking noise. The LED indicator (2) will go
out.
Adjusting maximum sensitivity:
After switching the device on, keep turning the setting
wheel in a clockwise direction until the LED indicator
just goes out. At this point the Metal & Voltage
Detector has its greatest sensitivity.
Locating voltages:
After you have set the device to its maximum
sensitivity, hold the sensor area for voltages (3)
against the surface you wish to check. The LED
indicator will light up if there are any live wires of the
right type within the maximum indicated range.

Locating metal:
After you have set the device to its maximum
sensitivity, hold the sensor area for metal (4) against
the surface you wish to check. The LED indicator will
light up if there are any metal objects of the right type
within the maximum indicated range.
Replacing the battery:
To replace the battery, proceed as shown in Fig. 2
and Fig. 3. Only use alkaline-manganese batteries.
Check that the capacitance and voltage of the new
battery are the same as the old battery.
