1 Applications

A special atmosphere can be created by emitting fog
from the fog machine. The unit is thus suitable for use in
e. g. the disco, the theatre, and at the private party.

2 Safety Notes

This unit corresponds to the directive for electromagne-
tic compatibility 89/336/EEC and the low voltage direc-
tive 73/23/EEC.
Attention! The unit is supplied with hazardous mains
voltage (230 V~). Leave servicing to skilled personnel
only. Inexpert handling may cause an electric shock
hazard. Furthermore, any guarantee claim will expire if
the unit has been opened.
Observe in any case the following items as well:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high hu-
midity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g. drink-
ing glasses etc., on the unit.
The heat which is generated in the unit has to be car-
ried off via air circulation. Therefore, do not cover the
air vents of the housing with anything.
Do not insert or drop anything into the air vents! This
could result in electric shock.
Do not take the unit into operation or immediately take
the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or similar
accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit must in any case be repaired by authorized
skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be repaired by the
manufacturer or authorized skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by
means of the mains cable.
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is operated in the wrong way or if it is not
repaired by authorized skilled personnel, no liability
can be taken over for possible damage.
Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively, take
it to a local recycling plant for disposal.
Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured mar-
kings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as
follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected
to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or
coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the let-
ter L or coloured red.
Warning — This appliance must be earthed.
3 Operation
The unit must only be taken into operation by adults.
Never operate the fog machine without the fog fluid.
Risk of fire!
1) Mount the supplied handle. Place both supplied rub-
ber washers between the handle and the housing
while mounting the handle. Tighten the screws firmly.
2) Open the tank and fill it up with fog fluid. The following
fluids from "img Stage Line" are suitable:
NF-500L "long life", 5 litre container
NF-500SL "super long life", 5 litre container
Only use the stated fog fluids, otherwise no liability
can be taken over for a proper operation!
The following fragrances from "img Stage Line" may
be added to the fog fluid:
NF-10 Apple
NF-20 Cherry
NF-30 Vanilla
NF-40 Woodruff
A bottle of fragrance is sufficient for 5 litres of fog
fluid. Do not add more fragrance as otherwise the fog
machine may get clogged.
3) Operate the unit in a horizontal position so that no
fluid can leak out.
4) Insert the connecting plug of the cable remote control
into the jack on the rear panel of the fog machine.
5) Connect the unit to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
Thus, model FM-702 is switched on. For operating,
switch on model FM-1002 additionally with the red
mains switch on the rear side. The fog machine heats
up for approx. five minutes. It is not possible to emit
fog before this.
6) The control lamp on the remote control lights:
for the model FM-1002 if the heating-up process is
completed and fog can be emitted.
for the model FM-702 if the unit is heating up. Fog
can only be emitted after the control lamp extin-
guishes.
7) As long as fog is to be emitted, keep the switch on the
remote control pressed.
Risk of burning! Do not direct the hot stream of fog
towards people, and keep a distance of at least
50 cm to the output nozzle.
8) Fog can be emitted continuously for approx.
nute. Afterwards, the unit has to heat up again.
During the heat-up phase no fog can be emitted.
Even if no fog is emitted, the unit has to heat up in
regular intervals.
9) After the operation switch off the fog machine or re-
move the mains plug from the mains socket. For
transporting let the unit cool down at first!
