1. Attach the desired nozzle

2. Pull out the cord by the plug up to the yellow mark
(Fig. 10/1).
WARNING:
Danger of electric shock! If the red marking (Fig. 10/2)
shows, retract the cord by pressing the cord retracting
button (Fig. 10/3) to pull in the cord up to the yellow mark
again. Otherwise the power cord might break.
3. Insert the mains plug into a socket with ground/safety
contact.
WARNING:
Danger of injury or fire! Only operate the appliance if your
mains voltage is the same as that indicated on the appli-
ance's type plate. Wrong voltage can cause short-
circuiting and possibly a subsequent fire.
4. Switch on the cylinder vacuum cleaner with the on/off
switch (Fig. 10/4).

5. Set the nozzle switch to "carpet" or "hard floor" accord-
ing to the floor (Fig. 11) to be cleaned:
- hard floor (Fig. 11/A):
B
for laminate, tiles, PVC, etc.
- Carpet (Fig. 11/B):
for carpets, runners, etc.
6. Set the suction power with the suction power control
(Fig. 12/1).
7. When working with the vacuum cleaner, pull if after you
like a sleigh.
NOTE:
In normal situations the bypass vent (Fig. 13/1) must be
completely closed. With the bypass vent you can quickly
reduce the suction power, e.g. to release curtains that
have accidentally been sucked in.
