EXTREME HAZARD
NEVER USE IN FRONT PASSENGER SEATS
EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS (SRS)
THIS CAN INCLUDE REAR PASSENGER
SEATS THAT ARE EQUIPPED WITH
AIRBAGS*
* Consult car manufacturer for suitability.
Children's bodies are not able to withstand
the forces exerted on them by a deploying
air-bag.
• Check that rigid items and plastic parts of the
child car seat are located and installed so that
they are not liable, during everyday use of the
vehicle, to become trapped by a movable seat
or in a door of the vehicle.
• Always use the child safety lock system, if one
is available, to make it impossible for the child to
open the car doors from inside.
• During long journeys take frequent breaks as
the child will tire easily.
• Whenever the child car seat is left in the
vehicle without the child in it, always ensure it is
correctly fitted using the vehicles seat belt and/
or the Isofix connectors, to prevent to being
thrown about in an accident.
• Never use the child car seat without the lining
and the shoulder pads. They cannot be replaced
with others unapproved by the manufacturer
as they are an integral part of the child restraint
system and are essential for safety purposes.
• When vehicle is fully occupied lighter
passengers should sit in the rear and heavier
ones in the front.
• If you have no option other than to put your
child car seat on a rear passenger seat next to
side airbags:
- consult with your vehicle manufacturer for
side airbag details. It may not be safe.
- make sure your child does not lean into the
area immediately around the airbag.
• Do not place any padding between the base
of the child car seat and the vehicle seat; it could
place the child's safety in jeopardy.
• Avoid winter clothing bundling - Bulky
clothing
can
lead
tightening. In an accident, the child can slip
right out of the extra padding - and thus out of
the seat. Let the car warm up or cool down prior
to placing your child in there if possible. If your
child is cold, place a blanket over the top of the
harness.
In the event of an emergency it is important to
be able to release the child quickly.

This means that the seat buckle cannot be
fully tamper proof and you should actively
discourage your child from playing with or using
the buckle.
• Check that the child car seat is correctly
attached and make sure that your child is
properly secured. Teach your child about the
dangers involved.
• Do not start the engine until you are sure that
your child is securely harnessed in their seat
and that you have also correctly fastened your
seatbelt. Check if everyone is safely belted up
and whether it is okay to drive off.
• Do not to use any load bearing contact points
other than those described in the instructions
and marked in the child car seat.
• Ensure that the lap section of the vehicle
seatbelt is worn low down, so that the child
pelvis is firmly engaged.
• During your journey, all car occupants must
wear a safety belt, in compliance with the law
in force in the country of use: in case of accident,
they may
unintentionally injure the child, even if the child
car seat is used properly.
• Never use a seatbelt routing scheme that
differs from these instructions.
• Check that all straps are always fastened and
tensioned properly.
• Check that straps with buckles are not twisted
and are not trapped in the car door or the
moving parts of the vehicle seat.
• Never leave your child unattended in the
vehicle.
• When getting out of the car, even for a short
time, ensure that you always take your child
with you.
• Car interiors can become very hot if the
vehicle is left in direct sunlight. Cover the child
car seat with a towel when it is not in use to
prevent its components from overheating and
cause injuries to the delicate skin of your child.
• Ensure that the child car seat is as close as
possible to the backrest of the vehicle seat.
• Remove the headrest of the passenger seat
being used if it obstructs the proper installation
of the child car seat.
Remember to refit the headrest when the child
car seat has
been removed.
• Do not use the Tolomeo 2.3 IFIX child car seat
if:
- it was subject to accident, even to a slight
one. It may have been subject to invisible
