• when the led blinks, it means that the part selected is in Edit mode. In this case, the
display shows the number of the sound (preset) selected and, by entering a number
on the numerical keypad or by pressing the value+/- keys, you can change the current
sound.
• when the led is oFF it means that the section is not enabled (no sound will be generated
for the related voice).
• when the led is on, it means that the section is enabled.
If all 3 right, left or bass voices are disabled, the display will show three dashes "---" to
point out that the instrument is disabled. All the operating parameters of the device can be
customized and saved in one of the 32 users available. When SD4 is switched on, it always
loads the parameters related to user number 1. In default conditions, user 1 is set in master
keyboard operating mode. By connecting a Midi keyboard on the midi In 2 port (voice), you
can therefore start to play with the built-in voices of the instrument.

operatIng modes

sd4 works with two separate Midi input ports and, based on the operating mode selected,
these ports can be used to connect independent Sequencers (to play Midifiles or other MIDI
sequences) or to connect MIDI accordions, Master keyboards, etc. with which you can control
the three right, left or bass voices of the instrument. To make sd4 easier to use, KETRON
has pre-arranged 4 different preset operating modes.

desCrIptIon oF the operatIng modes.

Here's a short description of the instrument's operating modes.
• master keyboard mode
In this mode, the mIdI In 1 port is used to play Midifiles while the mIdI In 2 port is used to
connect a Master keyboard. The receiving channel on the MIDI IN2 port is the MIDI global
channel (default setting: 1).
Depending on the split point, using the master keyboard you can control one or more
voices of sd4. By activating the individual voices using the corresponding keys on the
panel of SD4 (left – right – bass), the split point is set automatically. For example, if
you activate just one voice, the master keyboard will play throughout its full extension,
whereas if you activate at least 2 voices, the split point will be set automatically. To
change the split point, press the "lead off" and "save" keys together at the same time
and select the note using the master keyboard or the "value +/-" keys.
• accordion mode
In this mode, the mIdI In 1 port is used to play Midifiles, while the mIdI In2 port is used
