Safety rules for carbon dioxide (CO
) cylinders
2
• Use only for supplying CO
to aquaria.
2
• CO
cylinders are under high pressure. Therefore, please observe the following:
2
• Do not throw CO
cylinders. Store in a cool place. Protect against sun and temperatures above 50°C.
2
• Do not force CO2 cylinders open.
• Release CO
only using a DENNERLE pressure reducer for CO

Exclusive) with M 10 x 1,25 thread!
• Release CO
out of upright cylinders only. Secure against tipping over.
2
• CO
gas is heavier than air and causes suffocation at high concentrations, therefore:
2
• Do not inhale CO
gas. • Store out of reach of children.
2
• Store CO
cylinders in a well-ventilated place and not in basement rooms.
2
• When transporting individual cylinders in vehicles please observe the following:
Secure against sliding or rolling around, otherwise the valve may be damaged, causing CO
e.g. open window, blower switched on, etc.
• Do not refill disposable CO
cylinders!
2
• Place only completely empty cylinders into recycling containers.
How the CO
fertilizer system
2
Professional works
The
CO
pressure reducer Professional reduces the cylinder pressure to an ope-
2
rating pressure which the user can set in line with practical requirements. The
precision needle valve enables highly exact and very simple
CO
dosage. The
2
CO
CO
is transported to the aquarium via the special leak-proof
2
2
CO
Flipper ensures effective dissolving of the
CO
in the aquarium water. A

CO
special
check valve protects the valuable pressure reducer from any back-
2
flowing water. The
CO
content in the aquarium water can be read directly by

CO
means of the
long-term test Correct.
2
The disposable 500 g
CO
cylinder is particularly practical and convenient. It

over a long period before it needs replacing. And the frequently

laborious refilling process for reusable cylinders is a thing of the past!

Set-up and connection
Note: You may notice a brief "hiss" when screwing or unscrewing the pres-
sure reducer, similar to the sound when you open a bottle of mineral
water. The cylinder pressure manometer will now indicate approx. 60 bar
(at 20 °C).
IMPORTANT: Secure the

1. Connect the pressure reducer
• Pull black protective cap off the needle
valve of the pressure reducer.
• Close the needle valve by turning in
clockwise direction (if it is not yet clo-
sed). IMPORTANT: Tighten only gently!
• Turn setting screw for operating pressu-
re towards " – " as far as it will go.
• Pull green protective cap off the cylinder
valve.
• Screw pressure reducer hand-tight onto

2. Fit check valve in CO
hose

• Use a strong pair of scissors to cut
through the CO
hose approx. 10-20 cm

from the free end, leaving a straight cut
edge.
• Unscrew both coupling rings from the
CO
check valve.
2
• Fit coupling rings to the ends of the hose
and slide hoses as far as it will go onto the
hose connectors of the check valve.

must point in the CO
flow direction!

water. Do not use detergent!
• Plug the CO
supply hose onto the hose

connector. TIP: Dipping the end of the
hose into hot water briefly beforehand
makes it easier to slide it over the hose
connector.
• In the aquarium, select a spot with good
but not too strong water circulation. The
spot should not be too bright to prevent
possible algae growth.
• Using the suction cups, attach the CO

Flipper vertically, with the collector
facing upwards, at least 5 cm below the
surface of the water. Ensure that plants
do not obstruct the circulation of water
through the slits of the CO
