Risk of injury when wearing unsuitable clothing

and incorrect handling!
The belt drive can cause injury during operation if limbs or clothing get
jammed between the belt and belt pulleys.
» Do not reach into the belt drive when the belt and belt pulleys are
moving.
» When cycling, wear tight-fitting legwear if possible instead of wide
trousers, dresses or skirts.
» Make sure that loose clothing cannot get caught in the moving parts
of the bike, for example by using trouser clips.
» Make sure that no loose straps, laces or the like are hanging down.

Lighting

If you drive without lights in poor visibility conditions, you might not be
seen by other road users.
» Switch on the lighting when visibility is poor, e.g. at dusk.

Switching on the lighting

Friedrich / Frieda
The models Friedrich and Frieda are equipped with a switchless lighting
system. The lighting is thus permanently switched on and does not need
to be operated.
Gustav / Greta

To activate / deactivate the lightning system you need to press the
button at the front light
(fig.
30).

When the lightning system is switched on, front and rear light will both
shine. The lights are powered by the front hub dynamo.

Checking the lighting

Before cycling for the first time, make sure that the light cone of the front
headlight is correctly adjusted. At a distance of 5 meters, the brightest
area of the light cone should be half as high as the mounting height of the
headlight on the bike.
1. Place the bike so that it is straight and facing towards wall at a distance
of 5 meters.
2. Mark the target value for the brightest area (half the mounting height
of the headlight) on the wall.
3. Switch on the lighting

4. At a distance of 5 m, the light cone may only be half as high in front of
the headlight as when it emerges (fig. 31).

1. Loosen the fastening screws of the headlight bracket (fig. 32).
2. Adjust the headlight.
3. Tighten the fastening screws of the headlight bracket (3 Nm).
