INSTRUCTIONS
The product shows the time of the day on an easily readable analogue clockface.
Setting of the time of day is carried out via the integrated DCF receiver; with recep-
tion problems the time of day can also be set manually.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these
operating instructions.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for
any consequential damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused
by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such
cases the warranty will be null and void.
- For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifi ca-
tions of the product are not permitted. Never dismantle the product.
- The product is intended exclusively for use in dry interiors; it must not get damp
or wet.
- This product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. Only use
the product out of the reach of children; the product contains parts that can be
swallowed as well as batteries.
- Do not leave the packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
- Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
NOTES ON BATTERIES AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
- Batteries/rechargeable batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
- Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a risk they
could be swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immedi-
ately.
- Leaking, or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries, in contact with the skin
can cause acid burns, therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
- Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown
into a fi re. There is a risk of explosion!
- Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, risk of explosion! Only
charge rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use suitable
rechargeable battery chargers.
- Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries (pay attention to
plus/+ and minus/-!).
INSERTING/REPLACING BATTERIES
The battery compartment is located on the rear side of the radio wall clock. Insert
four type mignon/AA batteries with correct polarity.
In order to ensure enduring and secure operation you should use a high-quality
alkaline battery.
When inserting of the batteries into the clock the hands are moving to the 12 o'clock
position. Afterwards the radio wall clock attempts to receive the DCF signal (see
chapter "Getting started").
Replacing the batteries is required if suddenly large time differences occur or the
hands of the radio wall clock are standing still.
If you do not use the radio wall clock for longer period remove the inserted batter-
ies. If batteries grow old they can leak and damage the battery compartment of the
radio wall clock.

A rechargeable battery may be used, but due to the lower voltage output
(rechargeable battery = 1.2V, standard battery = 1.5V) and the lower capacity,
the service life is shorter.
If you are using a rechargeable battery, we recommend you use a NiMH battery
with low self-discharge.
GETTING STARTED
Directly after inserting the battery the radio wall clock starts an attempt to receive
the DCF signal. The hands move to the 12 o'clock position and afterwards the radio
wall clock searches for the DCF signal. This can take up to 10 minutes.
The DCF signal is a signal broadcast from a transmitter in Mainfl ingen (near Frank-
furt am Main). Its range is up to 1,500 km and, under ideal reception conditions, even
up to 2,000 km.
Among other things, the DCF signal includes the precise time (theoretical deviation
of 1 second in a million years!) and the date.
Of course, this eliminates the tedious manual setting of summer and winter time on
the radio wall clock, since the time change occurs automatically.
If the radio wall clock does not show an exact time of day after 10 minutes, please
restart the reception attempt (see chapter "Manual start of the DCF reception").

Bad reception of the DCF signal can also be caused by, e.g. metalised insulat-
ed glass, reinforced concrete construction design, coated special wallpaper
or an installation in cellars.
The radio wall clock is not supposed to be operated in the vicinity of cables,
mains sockets and other electrical appliances.
Keep a suffi cient distance from metal objects.
To test it, change the position of the radio wall clock and start a reception attempt
for the DCF signal (see chapter "Manual start of the DCF reception"). Alternatively
the time of day can also be set manually, see chapter "Manual time setting".
In the course of the day, the radio wall clock performs a number of reception attempts.
One successful search per day is enough for correct time display.
Hang up the radio wall clock using the mounting bracket on the back on a nail, a
screw or a hook.
Due to the high weight of the radio wall clock ensure solid mounting! If the
clock falls the housing of the radio wall clock will be damaged, guarantee will
be lost!
MANUAL START OF THE DCF RECEPTION
Impress the "WAVE" button on the back for more than 3 seconds. When the hands
are moving fast release the button. The hands move to the 12 o'clock position and
afterwards the radio wall clock searches for the DCF signal.
Alternatively, you can also remove the battery for a few seconds and insert it again
instead of pressing the "WAVE" button.

SETTING THE TIME MANUALLY
- Hold the "SET" button on the back of the radio wall clock for more than 3 seconds
in order to activate the manual settings mode and to set the time of the day. The
seconds hand stops.
As long as you keep impressed the "SET" button, minutes and seconds hands are
moving.
- Right before reaching the correct time release the "SET" button.
If you then press the "SET" button briefl y the minutes hand moves on by exactly
one minute.

The manual settings mode is terminated if you do not press the „SET" button
for agbout 6 seconds.
The seconds hand cannot be set.
