WARNING
7.2 Attach at least a 24-inch (61 cm) long 7 AWG (10 mm
NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -) battery post.
7.3 Connect the POSITIVE (RED) charger clamp to the POSITIVE (POS, P, +) post of the
battery.
7.4 Position yourself and the free end of the cable you have previously attached to the
NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -) battery post as far away from the battery as possible – then
connect the NEGATIVE (BLACK) charger clamp to the free end of the cable.
7.5 Do not face the battery when making the final connection.
7.6 Connect the charger's AC supply cord to the electrical socket.
7.7 When disconnecting the charger, always do so in the reverse order of the connecting
procedure and break the first connection while as far away from the battery as practical.
7.8 A marine (boat) battery must be removed and charged on shore. To charge it onboard
requires equipment specially designed for marine use.

a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. An improper connection can result in
the risk of an electric shock or electrocution.
8.3 USING AN EXTENSION CORD
The use of an extension cord is not recommended. If you must use an extension cord,
follow these guidelines:
• Pins on plug of extension cord must be the same number, size, and shape as those of
the plug on the charger.
• Ensure that the extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition.
• Wire size must be large enough for the AC ampere rating of the charger.
Recommended minimum AWG size for extension cord:
• 100 feet (30.5 metres) long or less – use an 16 gauge (1.31 mm
• Over 100 feet (30.5 metres) long – use a 14 gauge (2.08 mm
9. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
9.1 Remove all cord packaging and uncoil the cables prior to using the battery charger.
WARNING
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK OR FIRE.
8.1 This battery charger is for use on a nominal 230 V, 50/60 Hz
circuit. The plug must be plugged into an electrical socket that is
properly installed and earthed in accordance with all local codes and
ordinances. The plug pins must fit the receptacle (outlet). Do not use
with an unearthed system.
Never alter the AC cord or plug provided – if it does not fit the socket, have
