GAS HEATING IRON

USES:
To melt different kind of fillers (Hard Wax, Hard Wax PLUS, Hard Wax Matt,
Ceramic-Filler). Also for levelling and colour mixing.

BEFORE SETTING TO WORK:
Read entire operating and safety instructions!

Only use quality lighter gas (recommended brands: Sarome, Braun, Colibri,
Rowenta and Ronson).
Caution: The tip turns hot during operation. Risk of
burning! The gas heating iron is filled with flammable gas. Please handle with
care.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
1. Putting into service: Set the temperature regulator to highest position, hold
tip away from face and body. Turn the on-off switch 'ON' (push towards tip
direction - this will open the gas valve). Ignite emitted gas with the flint. It
flames for a few seconds - until the catalyst begins to glow. Note: Should the
flame not extinguish within 30 seconds the catalyst is used up and the tip has
to be replaced with a new one.
2. Temperature setting: Approximate guide number: mid position for Hard
Wax, turn to '-' direction for Soft Wax, turn to '+' direction for Hard Wax Matt
and PLUS and for Ceramic Filler. Note: If bubbles or smoke develops during
melting the temperature has to be set down.
3. Processing filler material: Always melt off small portions of filler, only. Do
not let filler drop but take off with the tip and press it into the damage area.
This ensures a precise work. After filling level projectings carefully and contin-
ue procedure according to the instructions for use of the relevant filler material.
Note: The catalyst tip is subject to wear and tear. Take care not to let wax enter
into the delicate catalyst material - life time of the tip will be prolonged.
Do not remove possible soilings on the catalyst mechanically - this would de-
stroy the catalyst. In case of soilings turn off the gas flow and take a lighter to
burn the catalyst 'free' . Then put again into operation and let remaining wax
residues glow off - set temperature to full power and wait until no smoke de-
velops any more. As soon as normal operation temperature is achieved, melt-
ing procedure can continue.
4. After use: turn off gas flow (on-off switch towards 'OFF'), wait until tip has

Due to legal regulation the gas
cooled and replace cap. Remove wax residues on the still heated tip carefully
with wire wool or a cotton cloth. Because of the risk of ignition make sure that
the tool is turned off before using wire wool!

RE-FILLING GAS:
A gas refill adapter is normally not required. Make sure the on-off switch is in
the off position before filling. Stand unit vertically with the filling valve face
upwards. Push the gas re-fill cylinder onto the filling valve. A hiss signals the
end of the filling procedure (after approx. 10 seconds).
REPLACEMENT OF THE CATALYST TIP:
Turn off tip coupling, take off tip and screw on new one.
REPLACEMENT OF THE FLINT:
Remove Phillips screw at top of the cap, take off spark wheel, replace flint and
put the parts together again.
SAFETY WARNINGS:
1. The gas heating iron contains flammable gas under pressure. Do not
expose to heat above +50°C (+120°F) and avoid prolonged exposure to
the sun.
2. Do not puncture or incinerate.
3. Keep out of reach of children.
4. To re-fill use a high quality butane cigarette lighter fuel.
5. Do not re-fill or ignite in the vicinity of flames or combustible materials.
6. The industrial safe act for the use of open flames in explosion-proof sectors
has to be observed.
7. When igniting the gas heating iron keep away from face and body.
8. Make sure that the flame is extinguished before putting away the tool -
please always use the safety stand.
9. During operation hot gases emit from the combustion chamber - do not
leave unattended.
10. The gas heating iron may only be repaired by the manufacturer. In
case of interference by others the manufacturer refuses any claims on both
guarantee and liability.
Make use of König's repair service offered at cost price. Simply send in defective
device.
