Intended use

The VWR MiniStar Silverline personal centrifuge is supplied with two rotors. The tube rotor
accommodates 8 X 1.5/2.0 ml plastic microcentrifuge tubes. The eight place rotor will also
accept 0.5ml tubes with the supplied adaptors. Adaptors are available separately for 0.4ml
tubes and 0.2ml tubes. The VWR Ministar is designed for applications requiring relatively low
g-forces, such as microfiltration, cell separation, and quick spin downs from the walls and caps
of tubes. Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting to operate this centrifuge.

Exchanging Rotors

Rotors are easily exchanged using the allen wrench provided. Locate the set screw on the rotor shaft below
the rotor head. Using the wrench, loosen the set screw and pull up the rotor to remove. Place the new
rotor into position on the motor shaft. Tighten the screw using the allen wrench until finger tight. Do not
over tighten as this will cause damage to the rotor and the motor shaft.
