- The spittoon unit contains cleaning liquid. Be careful not
to spill it.

Install the new spittoon unit with the knob
screw.

Press the knob at the near side of the case
containing the spittoon absorber liquid to
open the lid, raise the front side of the spittoon
absorber liquid case to discharge the spittoon
absorber liquid to the backside.
The discharged spittoon absorber liquid will go into the
waste ink bottle.
When discharge is completed, put the spittoon
absorber liquid case back into the original position.
Note
- Be sure to wear gloves when performing this operation.

Hold the finger grip at the spittoon case's both
side.
Then remove the spittoon case by lifting upward.

Set a new spittoon case's locating hole to the
protrusion, and fix it horizontally by pressing
slightly.

Moisten the spittoon case with the spittoon
absorber liquid using a dropper.

Confirm that the spittoon absorber liquid's top
surface is as high as the top of the protrusions.
Note
- In the spittoon case, the spittoon absorber liquid is
absorbed by the sponge, which may lower the liquid's
top surface.
In such a case apply the liquid additionally.

Close the capping cover and then close the front
cover.
