1. Description
The electric motor and generator is a functional
model used for demonstrating the operation of an
DC motor and AC/DC generator. The model is
equipped with a commutator and slip rings as well
as connectors, a capstan and rubber belt pulley,
and is mounted on a melamine-coated cardboard
base.

If there is a strong accumulation of dirt, clean the
commutator with very fine sandpaper.

4.2 Set-up
•
Insert the horseshoe magnet (which will func-
tion as a stator) into its holding fixture. Take
special care to ensure that the rotor can rotate
freely.
