14. Es muss sichergestellt sein, dass beim Betrieb der elektrischen Dampfmaschine
am 230-V-Netz ein funktionsfähiger Fehlerstromschutzschalter mit dem Auslöse-
strom von 30mA vorgeschaltet ist. Die verwendete Steckdose muss eine Schutzer-
dung besitzen.
15. Die Bedienungsanleitung ist unbedingt aufzubewahren!

16. Das Federsicherheitsventil herausdrehen und mit Hilfe des Trichters den Kessel
ca. 3/4 voll (oberer Rand des Wasserstandsglases) mit möglichst warmem Wasser fül-
len. Den Kessel nicht überfüllen! Der Trichter sollte beim Wassereinfüllen leicht he-
ben, damit hier die Luft aus dem Kessel entweichen kann. Nur kalkarmes oder besser
kalkfreies Wasser (z.B. destilliertes Wasser) verwenden.
17. Die Dampfpfeife auf den Kessel montieren. Bitte nur mit dem beiliegenden
Schraubenschlüssel festziehen. Nicht über den seitlichen Hebel der Pfeife eindrehen,
da dieser dadurch beschädigt wird. Beim Einschrauben der Dampfpfeife sollte der
Hebel mit der Kette möglichst nach außen zeigen (evtl. verschiedene Dichtungen un-
terlegen), damit die Betätigung der Kette zum Bedienen der Pfeife ohne Kesselberüh-
rung möglich ist. Die Dampfpfeife wird durch leichtes Ziehen an der Kette betätigt.
Hinweis: Mit der Dampfpfeife kann man sehr einfach einen Überdruck im Kessel re-
gulieren oder vor dem Ölen prüfen, ob noch Dampfdruck vorhanden ist.
18. Zum Ölen des Zylinders muss das Dampfabsperrventil geschlossen werden.
Erst jetzt die Öleinfüllschrauben abdrehen und WILESCO-Dampfmaschinenöl
(Art.-Nr. Z 83) einfüllen. Hierbei das Schwungrad mehrmals durchdrehen, damit das
Öl angesaugt wird. Ca. alle 10 Minuten ölen, damit sich der Kolben nicht festsetzen
kann (2-3 Tropfen Öl reichen für ca. 10 Minuten Betriebszeit). Das Dampfabsperr-
ventil muss während des Ölens geschlossen bleiben! Es darf kein Dampfdruck
im Kessel vorhanden sein. Sämtliche Lager und Gelenke leicht ölen. Vor jeder Kes-
selfüllung ist ebenfalls durch Öffnen der Dampfpfeife zu prüfen, dass sich kein
Dampfdruck mehr im Kessel befindet.
19. Jetzt das Dampfabsperrventil bei sichtbarer Dampfentwicklung (Manometerstand
ca. 1 bar) durch eine Drehung nach links öffnen. Das Schwungrad von Hand anwer-
fen, damit das in der Dampfleitung und dem Zylinder befindliche Kondenswasser ent-
weichen kann. Dadurch setzt sich die Dampfmaschine in Betrieb. Die Drehzahl des
Schwungrades kann durch das Dampfabsperrventil geregelt werden.
20. Der Kondenswasserbehälter muss während des Dampfbetriebes mehrfach ent-
leert werden. Hierzu vorher das Dampfabsperrventil schließen und die Dampfma-
schine stoppen.
21. Nach Beendigung des Dampfbetriebes und dem Abkühlen sollte die Dampfma-
schine gewartet werden. Noch im Kessel vorhandenes Wasser durch das Öffnen des
Wasserablassventils entleeren. Hierzu das Wasserablassventil öffnen und die Dampf-
pfeife durch leichtes Ziehen an der Kette öffnen - so entsteht kein Unterdruck beim
Entleeren des Restwassers. Vorsicht bei heißem Wasser! Im Kessel verbleibendes
Wasser kann der Funktion nicht schaden, aber evtl. zu Ablagerungen an dem Schau-
glas führen. Kalkrückstände am Wasserstandsschauglas oder im Kessel auf keinen
Fall mit Essig oder sonstigen stark ätzenden Mitteln entfernen (Empfehlung: Ver-
wendung eines kalklösenden Mittels, welches Messing und Lötzinn nicht angreift).
Zum Abschluss das Modell trockenputzen.
22. Das elektrisch beheizte Dampfmodell ist mit Temperatursicherungen ausgestattet.
Diese Temperatursicherungen werden bei einem Betrieb mit zu wenig Wasser im
Kessel ausgelöst. Ein weiterer Betrieb ist dann nur möglich, wenn folgende Punkte
beachtet werden: 1. Netzstecker ziehen, 2. Maschine ca. 1 Std. abkühlen lassen, 3.
Wasserstand kontrollieren und ggf. auffüllen, 4. Sichtprüfung des Kessels und dessen
Anschlüsse auf Undichtigkeiten (bei Undichtigkeiten die Maschine nicht mehr benut-
zen, sondern zur Reparatur einsenden), 5. Netzstecker einstecken.
Garantie:
23. Alle WILESCO-Dampfmodelle sind sorgfältig geprüft. Sollte trotzdem ein Man-
gel auftreten, helfen wir bzw. reparieren Ihre Dampfmaschine. Sie können die Dampf-
maschine über Ihren Fachhändler oder direkt an uns einsenden. Wir bitten um Ver-
ständnis, dass bereits angeheizte/gebrauchte Modelle nicht gegen neue ausge-
tauscht werden können. Die häufigsten Reklamationen sind undichte Dampfkessel.
Die Lötnaht wird durch Beheizung ohne ausreichenden Wasserstand zerstört. In sol-
chen Fällen verflüssigt sich das Lötzinn, bildet Tropfen an der Lötnaht und der Kessel
wird undicht. Dies ist ein eindeutiger Beweis, dass der Kessel trockenbeheizt wurde.
Bitte beobachten Sie stets sorgfältig den Wasserstand, da eine Trockenbehei-
zung jegliche Garantieansprüche ausschließt.
Dieses Modell ist ausschließlich für die oben beschriebene Funktion bestimmt.

precautions for your own safety:
1. For safety reasons, children should run the steam
engine only under supervision of adults (recommended
age: from 8 years on, not recommended for children
under 36 months). During the operation of the steam
model until its complete cooling the engine must be under
constant observation.
2. Each irregularity during operation has to be repaired by a competent and
authorized person or by WILESCO themselves. Otherwise any warranty expires.
3. Any unauthorized change, repair or manipulation to the standard specification will
also invalidate the warranty.
4. All parts which are under steam pressure so as boiler, spring loaded safety valve
etc. leave our works only after a 100% examination. The spring loaded safety valve
must not be manipulated. The operation of the steam engine without any spring
loaded safety valve is not allowed The function of the spring loaded valve has to be
checked before each operation by pressing the spring or by a small pull on the upper
valve rod. If lime residues caused by hard water are visible on the spring loaded
safety valve, it has to be replaced immediately.
5. High temperatures: The principles on which the engine works mean that the
burner slide, boiler, boiler house, the spring loaded safety valve, the steam pipes etc.
become very hot. Do not touch in order to avoid the risk of burns.
6. Safety precautions: During operation, take care that children do not touch any of
the moving parts.
7. Danger if the boiler is heated without enough water! Always
ensure that there is enough water in the boiler of the steam engine.
The water must always be visible at least at the lower end of the
sight glass, otherwise the joints become leaking and the boiler will be
destroyed. Any resulting claim, damage or consequential damage
cannot be accepted. If the boiler or any steam leading part leak, stop
the steam model immediately by removing the burner slide. Any necessary repair
should be carried out by authorized staff or at the WILESCO company.
8. The steam engine is fitted out in our premises with two temperature fuses which
prevent a dangerous overheating of the boiler. Any necessary repair should be carried
out by authorized trained staff or at the WILESCO company.
9. The steam engine meets all of the safety standards and actual regulations. Each
boiler has been submitted to a bursting and water pressure test of 5 bar. The boiler
contents and 550 cm³, the operating pressure is up to 1,5 bar.
10. Operate the steam engine far enough away from burning objects and not on
temperature sensitive surfaces.
11. In case of damage to the water gauge glass, e.g. through a scratch, do not use the
steam engine any more. Let the glass be changed by authorized trained staff or the
manufacturer.
12. On the electrically heated steam engines the mains connection cable is provided
with a schockproof plug according to the instructions of the Union of German
Electricians (VDE). Important: the mains current must be the same than the one
indicated on the rating plate. During the first heating phase, a slight emission of
smoke is possible.
13. Place the mains connection cable so that it does not touch any hot parts.
14. Before operation of the electrically heated steam engines, please ensure that
between the 230 Volt mains and the steam engine an operational safety cut out
switch with a fuse from 30mA is used. The mains socket must be earthed.
15. Imperatively keep the operating instructions with your steam engine.

16. Unscrew the spring loaded safety valve and fill the boiler with the funnel approx.
3/4 full (upper edge of the water gauge glass), with warm water. Do not overfill the
boiler. The funnel should rise slightly so that the air can escape from the boiler. Use
only limescale free or distilled water.
17. Screw the steam whistle onto the boiler using the provided spanner. Do not
tighten by turning the lateral lever of the whistle as this will be damaged. When
screwing in the steam whistle, the lever with the chain should point outwards (place
several washers under the whistle if necessary) so that the chain which operates the
whistle does not come in contact with the boiler. Pull the chain gently to operate the
whistle. Note: the steam whistle can be used to check any overpressure in the boiler
or before oiling to check whether the boiler is still under pressure.
18. Before oiling the cylinder, turn off the steam supply valve. Only then open the
oil filler screw and fill WILESCO Steam Oil (item n° Z 83) while turning the
flywheel several times so that the oil is sucked in. Oil again approx. every 10 minutes
so that the piston does not seize (2-3 drops oil are enough for approx. 10 minutes
running time). The steam supply valve must be closed when oil is being added.
There must be no steam pressure in the boiler. Oil lightly all of the bearings and
linkages. Before refilling the boiler with water, check by opening the steam whistle if
there is no steam pressure in the boiler.
19. When steam can be seen (approx. 1 bar on the pressure gauge), open the steam
regulator by one complete turn to the left. Turn the flywheel by hand so that the
condensed water in the pipes and the cylinder can escape. Thus the steam engine
starts to operate. The speed can be adjusted througt the steam regulator.
20. The condensed water tray must be emptied several times while the steam engine
is running. Before emptying, turn off the steam regulator and stop the steam engine.
21. After the operation of the steam engine and when it cooled down, the engine
should be serviced. Pour out any water left in the boiler by opening the water drain
valve. For this, unscrew the spring loaded valve, then open the steam whistle by
pulling gently on the chain. This will prevent a vacuum when the residual water is
drained off. Be very careful if the water is still hot! Any water left in the boiler
cannot do any damage but might leave sediment on the sight glass. Under no
