Operating tips

Always operate your power tool with
the auxiliary handle.
Injuries can result if you lose control
of the machine.
Chiselling
Wear protective glasses and hearing
protection.
When chiselling, the best results are achieved by
removing the material in small pieces.
Use the weight of the power tool itself when
working, and hold it with both hands. Do not
exert too much pressure on the tool; as this
will not increase the performance.
-NOTE-
The impact stroke of the tool may fail to be trig-
gered even when the motor is running if the oil
has become too thick.
If the tool is to be used at low temperatures or has
not been used for some time, you should let it run
for five minutes before starting work to allow it to
warm up. The power tool will take some time to
reach full performance.
You can reduce the run-up time by knocking the
tool inserted 1 in the machine against the ground
once.
5. Tools and accessories
Sharpening the chiselling tools
For good results, you need sharp chiselling tools,
so ensure that they are sharpened regularly. This
ensures long service life for the tools and optimum
performance.
Sharpen the chiselling tools on grinding wheels
(e.g. aluminium oxide) with a constant supply of
water. Ensure that there are no annealing colours
on the blades, as these impair the hardness of the
chiselling tools.
Oil lubrication
Before carrying out any work on the
machine, pull the mains plug.
When used daily for a period of approximately
three to four hours, the breaker, which has an in-
tegrated oil tank, can be operated for about 20
days without topping up with lubricating oil.
Check the level daily to ensure that there is
sufficient oil.
-NOTE-
It is imperative that you top up with oil if the oil lev-
el in the display 8 is 3 mm or less with the power
tool held in upright position.
Topping up with oil
Use only original oil manufactured by KRESS or
Rotella #40, manufactured by Shell. This oil is sold
at most Shell filling stations.
Remove the plug screw 8 from the oil level
display 8 using the spanner supplied (width
across flats 24).
Take care not to lose the rubber seal fitted be-
low the oil level display 8 when you do so.
Pour suitable oil into the opening.
Tighten the plug screw 8 with rubber seal.

6. Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before carrying out any work on the
machine, pull the mains plug.
Keep the power tool and the ventilation slots
clean at all times.
Regularly wipe the exterior of the device
clean using a cloth without cleaning agents.
Keep the tool holding fixture clean at all times.
Replacing brushes
Worn carbon brushes should be replaced by an
authorised customer service organisation.
Brushes which are shorter than 6 mm must be re-
placed immediately to prevent damage to the mo-
tor.
