4. Operation
Before carrying out any work on the

machine, pull the mains plug.

Putting into operation

Observe correct main voltage!
Before putting into operation, check that the mains
voltage and frequency on the identification plate
match the details of your mains supply.
On/Off switch 4 in "Off" position
Only for use with ground-fault circuit inter-
rupter
Before putting your power tool into operation,
check that the socket is fitted with a ground-fault
circuit interrupter (GFCI).
Use of extension cables
If using an extension cable: Only use
extension
approved for the application with the
required cross-section. Otherwise the
power of the tool can be reduced and
the cable can overheat. Replace
damaged cables.

Auxiliary handle

Always operate your power tool with
the auxiliary handle.
Injuries can result if you lose control
of the machine.
Mains cable
If the mains cable is damaged while
working, pull the mains plug immedi-
ately.
Fixed power supply
Fixed power supply
Damaged mains cables must not be used. They
must be replaced immediately by an expert tech-
nician.

Operation
On/Off
Press or release the On/Off switch 4.
-NOTE-
At low outside temperatures: The tool requires a
minimum operating temperature before the ham-
mer action will work. Switch on the tool, place
briefly on the ground and run at idle speed.
Repeat until the percussion starts.
Changing the tool
Disconnect the plug from the power
source before making any adjust-
ments, changing accessories, or stor-
ing power tools.
Such preventive safety measures
prevent accidental start of the power
tool.
Wear safety gloves for tool chang-
ing.
The tool insert can become very hot
after working for long periods and/or
the cutting edges of the tool insert
are sharp.
Inserting the tool
Clean the tool shaft and grease it lightly.

Pull the clamping lever 2 downwards.
Turn the clamping lever 180° in clockwise di-
rection to release the tool.
Fit the tool insert 1 into the tool holding fixture.
Turn the clamping lever 2 back to its original
position.
Check that the tool is locked in position by
pulling it 1.
Removing the tool
Carry out the steps described above in reverse or-
der to remove the tool.
