Introduction
Congratulations and thank you for purchasing the W420 AIS
MSLD, one of the most high-tech, reliable devices available on the market.
The W420 AIS MSLD, when activated, is capable of transmitting an
AIS signal, useful for locating people who are missing at sea.
As the owner of this radio device you are advised to:

Read this manual.

Activate your W420 ONLY in the event of an emergency.

Prepare and check an emergency plan.

Do not activate your W420 to check whether it is working
properly: follow the test procedures described in this manual.

This radio device is designed to only provide an effective alerting and
locating capability in close proximity to a vessel. This radio beacon is NOT
an EPIRB.
Declaration (RSS-GEN, issue 4, par 8.4)
User manuals for licence-exempt radio apparatus shall contain the
following text, or an equivalent notice that shall be displayed in a
conspicuous location, either in the user manual or on the device, or both:
This device complies with Industry Canada's licence-exempt RSSs.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause interference; and
(2) This device must accept any interference, including interference that
may cause undesired operation of the device.
