7.
The pipes between the heat pump and pool should not be longer than 10 m, pipes longer than 10 m will
reduce the efficiency of the heat pump.
8.
Make sure that the on/off switch is out of the reach of children.
9.
If the heat pump is to remain off for a long period of time, cut the power to the heat pump and drain it by
closing the by-pass valves and disconnecting the water inlet pipe.
Maintenance
Disconnect the heat pump from its power supply before any intervention.
Winterizing : Drain the pump and disconnect it from its power supply. Cover it with a protective jacket.
Clean the outside of the pump using detergent and water. Never use organic solvants.
Check once a year at least that the screws, bolts, cables and connections are correctly tightened.
Physico-chemical properties of pool water:
The commonly available pool treatment chemicals are compatible with the materials used to build the heat pumps
subject to the condition that the physico-chemical properties of the pool water fall within the following ranges:
pH between 7 and 7.4
Total Hardness (TH) less than 200 ppm
Cyanuric acid (stabiliser) concentration less than 80 ppm
Free chlorine concentration: 1.0 to 1.5 ppm
Free bromine concentration: 1.0 to 1.5 ppm
Check these properties at the beginning of the season before allowing water to circulate through the heat pump. Then
recheck at regular intervals.
Caution:
«Shock» Chlorination of the pool: before super chlorinating the pool water, stop the heat pump and isolate the
hydraulic loop (isolating valves) on which the heat pump is mounted. Do not reopen the valves until the chlorine
concentration has fallen to normal levels.
Troubleshooting
SYMPTOM
Steam escaping from the machine
clicking/popping sound
Flowing sound
clicking/popping
automatic start/ stop not functioning
correctly
The machine does not start up
The machine is running but doesn't heat
Note: Should the circuit breaker trips frequently or the fuse blows regularly, stop the machine immediately, cut the
power supply and contact your dealer.

CAUSE
The fan stops automatically for defrosting.
The noise made by the 4-way valve during cycle inversions heating/defrosting or defrosting/
heating.
While the heat pump is running, or just after it stops, and during the first 2/3 minutes after the
machine starts up. The noise can be caused by circulation of heat exchange fluid or drainage of
condensates.
The heat exchanger can make clicking/popping noises as it expands and contracts under the
influence of temperature variations.
Power supply out of order.
Check that the manual on/off switch is set to on.
The circuit breaker has tripped/fuse has blown.
The machine is in delayed start phase (the on LED is lit up)
Timer on (the 'On' indicator light is lit up)
Check that the water temperature at the heat pump outlet is a few degrees warmer than the water
temperature at the inlet. Check that the air inlet and exhaust are not obstructed.
