PALLETT FORKS
Positioning the ring on the various points of the
neck:
1. fork slightly tilted forward to insert and remove the
tips from the pallet more easily;
2. fork balanced with no load;
3. fork balanced with full load.
The outer tips must be opened as much as possible
according to the dimensions of the material being
handled and in any case they must always remain
within the crosspieces of the pallets.
For correct lifting, remember that the centre of gravity
of the pack must coincide with that of the fork.
Failure to observe this condition can cause:
- overturning of the load;
- overload on the two teeth or, worse, on only one of
the two.
The capacity indicated on the identification plate refers
to a load evenly distributed on both tips.
Do not handle the load using the terminal parts of the
tips.
After having gripped the pack, before starting to lift it
secure it with a chain with welded links or a suitable
strap, to the two hooks situated on the lateral uprights
of the fork. The ends of the chains or straps must be
equipped with an anti-release device and the length
must be sufficient to guarantee the correct tension
during the transport.
In the lifting and handling manoeuvres, avoid brusque
acceleration and jerky movements. Progressive
speeds should be used, using the alarm buzzer on the
crane to warn of the start of handling operations.
The load handling manoeuvres must be carried out in
such a way as to avoid passing above places where
the possible falling of the load could pose a danger to
persons and/or objects.
