Troubleshooting
Problem
No function when Trigger (11) is operated
Gradual power loss, intermittent cut-out
Chainsaw does not cut effectively, and produces fine saw dust
Hedge trimmer does not operate
Hedge trimmer operates intermittently
Motor operates but blades remain stationary
Blade becomes hot during use
Excessive vibrations or noise
Possible cause
Defective Trigger
Intermittent power cut-out
Worn/ faulty motor brushes
Saw Chain (18) blunt
Chain oil tank empty
Chain oil delivery too low
Chain tensioned incorrectly set
Mains socket faulty
Extension cable damaged
Fuse faulty/blown
Extension cable damaged
Internal wiring damaged
One or both switches defective
Carbon brushes worn
Too much friction
If the above troubleshooting solutions fail, contact your dealer or an authorised GMC service centre.
No power
Replace the On/Off Trigger Switch at an authorised GMC service
Replace the On/Off Trigger Switch at an authorised GMC service
Replace using supplied spare brush set (see 'Brushes'), or return to
