System description

2. System description
The INGECON EMS Manager energetically optimises installations in the domestic, commercial and industrial
markets. Its aim is to increase the production rate of renewable energy sources connected to the grid at all times,
in accordance with the consumption needs of the installation.
A self-consumption system controlled by the INGECON EMS Manager can include:

PV generation.

Storage.
Load control.
A brief description of each assembly shows below.
The energy balance result of the system will depend on the items to be installed, and on the
objectives and needs of the user.
Self-consumption installations controlled by the INGECON EMS Manager are compatible with
Ingeteam inverters. If you want to connect the device to another type of system, please consult
Ingeteam beforehand.
2.1. PV generation
The Ingeteam PV generation units that are suitable for this type of system can be single or three-phase, permitting
different power ratings in one installation.
The INGECON EMS Manager determines the production setpoints of the units based on the strategy set by the user
and the actual consumption in the installation. The production setting is configured on a basis that is proportional
to the rated power of each of the units.
In three-phase installations with single-phase inverters, the generation setpoints are independent in each of the
units of each phase, in order to obtain an individualised setting in unbalanced systems.
For information about PV generation inverters connected to the system, see the manual that
corresponds to the equipment installed.
The following chart shows an example of energy management in an installation with PV generation.
Consumption of the installation
The strategy implemented in the INGECON EMS Manager of the previous example consists of limiting the PV
generation to the characteristic consumption of the installation.
