6. MAlNTENANCE
The osmoser 5 stages reverse osmosis equipment requires low maintenance.
- Replace the prefilters once every 12 months to assure a good system feeding and a good removal of inlet
water chlorine. At the same time this will prevent excessive dirt from limiting water flow at the membrane.
- The mineralizing postfilter should be replaced every 12 months, coinciding with the prefilter replacement.
- The osmosis membranes must be changed when the dissolved salts reduction is below 80 %. Membranes
lifeti me i s af fected by th e w ate r charac teristic s ( pH , har dness, iron , chlori ne , etc.).
- Sediment and charcoal cartridges should be changed every 12 months.
- For a sanitary warranty , the osmoser must be periodically hygienized , by cleaning the elements which
comprise the filtration system.
- The equipment hygienisation must be done by an Authorized Technical Service, and following all instructions
that come with the cleaning products.
Caution: Even if the entry valve is closed, the vessels containing the filters contain an important
amount of water. Please take the precaution of having a container for its emptying in order to
avoid a water spillage.
Note:
f the prefilter or postfilter are replaced, it is not imperative to replace the rest.
f the reverse osmosis membrane is replaced, the sediment prefilter, the activated charcoal filter and
the remineralizer postfilter must also be replaced.
7. PROBLEM SOLVlNG GUlDE
ANOMALY

- s the equipment properly
connected to the electric supply?
- s the hydraulic system
properly connected?
- Check that there is sufficient
supply of water
- The membrane is obstructed
- Has the proper maintenance
been done?
- Are there any leaks in the
system?
- The accumulation tank has
been filled?
SOLUTlON
- Check the electrical connections
-Check that there are no water leaks
in the installation
- Check that the faucet has been
properly installed
- Open any faucet to test it
- Call the technical service to replace
the membrane
- Call the technical service to
do the maintenance
- f there are leaks, call the technical
service
- Wait for at least one hour before
establishing the failure
