Before fi rst use
1. Remove all packaging material and any protective fi lm used to secure it during trans-
port. Never remove the type plate or any warnings.
2. The device may have production residues stuck to it. To avoid health problems,
clean the device before fi rst use:
– Wipe the device with a clean, damp cloth.
– Wipe the grill plate with a soft, damp cloth/sponge and, if necessary, a small
amount of detergent. Dry thoroughly.
3. Before using for the fi rst time, we recommend heating the device once for a few min-
utes to remove any production residues from the grill plate. Follow the instructions in
the chapters "Setting up the device" and "Using".
During initial startup, production-related additives (e.g. grease) can lead to slight
smoke and/or odour development. This is normal and not a defect of the device.
4. Clean the device again (see the "Cleaning and storage" chapter).
