PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Before initial use, after non-using the unit for a long time or after descaling it, we
recommend to carry out 2 brewing operations for approximately 4 cups as de-
scribed in the following, but without coffee.

PREPARING COFFEE

• Fill the water tank with water.
IMPORTANT!
When filling the water tank, please observe the following:
• Water level indicators with 2 units of measure are located on the side. The left
unit of measure refers to a large cup (125 ml) and the right unit of measure
refers to a small cup (83 ml).
• Fill the water tank to the maximum 10 / 15 cup level marking.
• Open the coffee filter.
• Put in one filter bag (size 1 x 4 or number 4).
• Fill the coffee filter with coffee grounds.
Note: We recommend that you freshly grind the coffee using a Graef coffee grind-
er. You can purchase coffee grinders in our online shop www.graef.de.

• Close the coffee filter.
• Put the glass jug below the coffee filter. Check to see that the glass jug sits cor-
rectly below the coffee filter.
• Switch the unit on.
• After completion of the brewing operation, the hotplate will still keep the coffee
warm for about 40 minutes.
Note: Thanks to the automatic drip stop function, your can remove the glass jug
already during the brewing operation and make yourself a cup of coffee. Once the
glass jug has been reinserted, the brewing operation will continue.
• Subsequently, the unit will automatically switch off.
