Listening through headphones

For private listening, first reduce the volume level on the receiver
to minimum. Then insert the plug from your headphones into
the PHONES jack, and adjust the volume by turning the VOLUME
knob.
< Plugging headphones into the PHONES jack does not disable
speaker output. Use the SPEAKERS A and B buttons to turn them
off.
CAUTION
Always lower the volume level prior to plugging in your
headphones. TO AVOID DAMAGING YOUR HEARING - Do not
place your headphones on your head until after you have
plugged them in.
Muting
To mute the sound temporarily, press the MUTE button.
Press the MUTE button again to restore the sound.
< While muting is engaged, the MUTE indicator blinks.

LOUDNESS button
How to adjust the balance between the left
and right speakers
When the volume level is low, use this to boost low and high
frequencies, which can be more difficult to hear.
Set this button to the OFF position when listening at normal
levels.
Turn the BALANCE knob to adjust the balance of the speakers.
Normally, set the knob to the center position.
