Select ironing temperature using the SET
button (position 3 of figures 1 and 3).
-
When the selected temperature has been
reached, let the basin down using the
lock/unlock knob; the basin will be un-
locked and it will be possible to start
working.
WARNING:
The roller DOES NOT revolve when the
basin is up in rest position. It revolves only
with the basin down. It is advisable to keep
the basin up while warming up.
IMPORTANT: Do not leave the hot basin
down against the roller when the machine
is not being used, as this will cause the
padding to wear out untimely.
TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT
Work temperature can be selected among
the three available settings (100°C, 150°C
and 180°C) only when the machine is on.
When the machine is switched on no selec-
tion is active, which means that the heat will
stay off until a temperature is selected using
the SET button (position 3 of figures 1 and
3).
Pressing the SET button causes the display
of the three temperature settings. The fourth
setting disables the heat. The current tem-
perature is shown by the corresponding warn-
ing light. The light blinks until the required
temperature is attained and then it stays on
continuously.
If a temperature setting is selected when the
current temperature exceeds the value as-
signed to that setting the corresponding warn-
ing light will skip the blinking and stay on
continuously. If a setting is selected when
the current temperature exceeds one or both
higher selections, the corresponding warn-
ing lights will blink fast to indicate that the
selected temperature is far lower than the
present basin temperature.
Electronic temperature control guarantees
that the temperature remains stable and uni-
form through switching the heat on and off
very often. This is why a clicking sound is
frequently heard, which is perfectly normal.
TO SWITCH THE APPLIANCE OFF
Press the STOP button (button "O", position
2 of figures 1 and 3). The machine goes off
only if the press basin is up and locked in rest
position. Otherwise it disables the heat and
waits for the basin to be lifted.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF A POTEN-
TIAL DROP
WARNING:
THE PRESS BASIN CAN BE RAISED
AND LOWERED ONLY MANUALLY.
THE USER MUST EXERCISE COM-
MON SENSE AND LIFT OR LOWER
THE PRESS BASIN ACCORDING TO
MACHINE USE CONDITIONS.
When a potential drop occurs for whatever
reason, the machine goes off stopping roller
rotation and temperature control.
The following conditions may result:
1) When voltage is restored the press basin
is raised: the machine will be off and the
STOP yellow warning light will be illu-
minated, indicating that the machine is
energised.
2) When voltage is restored the press basin
is not raised: the machine goes on on its
own and all warning lights flash until
the press basin is brought to its correct
position; then it will go off and remain
in the condition dealt with in the previ-
ous paragraph.
TIPS FOR BEST USE OF THE MA-
CHINE
Sort out the laundry to be ironed according
to the type of fabric and start ironing the
laundry that needs the lowest temperature.
Gradually increase ironing temperature by
means of the temperature button and iron the
most temperature-resistant garments last.
You will so spare time and avoid having to
wait for the press basin to cool down.
The relative humidity contained in the
laundry to be ironed must not exceed
20%.
The following table indicates the appropri-
ate temperature settings for different types
of fabrics. It also contains the symbols com-
monly used in the textile industry:
10
FABRIC Symbol*Sign

ficial silk
Silk-wool
••
Medium max. 150°C
Cotton-linen •••
High
200°C
150°C
110°C
* These symbols (within a tiny iron) are
currently seen on the labels attached to gar-
ments.
Starched laundry must be ironed last.
Press the START push-button ("I" position
1 of figures 1 and 3) and select a temperature
setting using the SET button (position 3 of
figures 1 and 3).
The press basin warms up. When the corre-
sponding temperature selection light stays
on continuously, the machine will have at-
tained the required work temperature.
Unlock the press basin using the basin lock/
unlock knob and let it down pushing the
pedal. The roller will start to turn.
Lay the clothes to be ironed on the introduc-
tion board and spread them properly; push
them to the revolving roller, which will drag
them in; you will thus avoid any possible
burns.
To stop the roller and raise the basin, step on
the pedal again. Then lock the basin at rest
using the appropriate knob.
CAUTION: WHEN IRONING, USE THE
WHOLE ROLLER SURFACE (see fig.1).
This is very important in order to distribute
the heat uniformly on the roller and reduce
the wear of the flannel cover.
We DO NOT RECOMMEND ironing lay-
ers of laundry that are thicker than 5 mm, as
the entire roller cover would quickly wear out.
Before ironing the laundry, make sure that
buttons, zips, clasps and buckles do not touch
the press basin; cover them with a cloth or
place them inwards so that they face the roller.
Do not iron clothes sewn with synthetic
thread, printed fabrics or garments having
plastic parts.
At the end of each working day, carry out the
following procedures:
-) Allow the roller to turn for a couple of
minutes with the basin down against the
roller and a low temperature setting, in order
to evaporate the moisture left on the roller
cover.
-) Lift the press basin using the pedal and
lock it up using the appropriate knob.
-) Switch the appliance off by the STOP
button ("O", position 2 of figures 1 and 3).
-) Cut out power supply by the circuit breaker
on the wall.
ATTENTION
THE PRESS BASIN CAN BE RAISED
AND LOWERED ONLY MANUALLY.
THE USER MUST EXERCISE COM-
Temp.
