The standard display for the reader is:
Microchip ISO FDX-B 15-digit number
Battery level indicator
Displayed when the reader is searching
for the animal's microchip.

Troubleshooting
The reader won't turn on:
batteries are inserted in the correct orientation.
If this doesn't solve the problem, try changing
the batteries, see page 4 for details.
The reader will not detect the animal's microchip:
the following:
• The animal's microchip was out of reading range whilst scanning, meaning it wasn't
detected in the area scanned with the reader. To improve your chances of locating an animal's
microchip, try either of the scanning motion patterns on page 4.
• The animal doesn't have a compatible microchip, or has no microchip at all. The reader only
works for animals with ISO FDX-B 15-digit microchips.
• Some animals may have more than one microchip implant, in this case microchips close to
each other could affect the reader performance. To improve your chances of reading one of the
microchips, try either of the scanning motion patterns on page 4.
• Metal may interfere with the reader, try taking a reading away from large metal objects such
as a metal table.

Microchip Temperature
(Only for temperature sensing microchips)
One of the icons below will replace the
temperature reading if it is out of range:
Below 33˚C
(91.4˚F)
Displayed when the batteries are completely
flat. To insert new batteries see page 4.
No temperature is displayed:
Make sure the
reader only displays the microchip number,
this may indicate that the animal does not
have a temperature sensing chip.
Above 43˚C
