To insert batteries please follow the steps below.

Remove the battery cover by pressing the arrow
and sliding it away from the centre.
This icon will be displayed when the batteries begin to run low. Always use 2 high
quality alkaline AA batteries.

How to take a reading

To read an animal's microchip, please follow the steps detailed below.

Press the button on the
reader to turn it on.
(It will automatically
turn off when not in use)
To locate the microchip, hold the reader close to the animal's neck, then move it in either one of
the suggested Motion Patterns pictured below.

Changing the temperature unit between˚C & ˚F
To change the unit of temperature for the reader, first remove the
batteries. Then
press and hold the reader's button whilst re-inserting
the batteries. The Microchip Temperature will now be displayed in
Fahrenheit. To revert back to Celsius, repeat the process.

Press the button again and move the
reader around the animal, following
one of the Motion Patterns detailed
below to locate the microchip.

Insert the batteries making sure the + and -
symbols are the correct way round.
When the reader detects the
microchip it will display its
number and, if applicable,
Microchip Temperature.
