❐ The battery or charger must not be taken apart, thrown into a fi re, immersed in liquids
or short-circuited.
❐ Do not place batteries or the device on a cooking or heating device, e. g. microwave
oven, stove or radiator. The batteries may overheat and explode.
❐ If used incorrectly, fl uid may escape from the battery. Avoid contact with this. Rinse with
water if you happen to come into contact with it. If the fl uid gets into your eyes, you should
also seek medical assistance. Escaping battery fl uid can lead to skin irritations or burns.
❐ Never use a damaged charger or the device if the battery is damaged.
❐ If the battery is damaged and used inappropriately, vapours may escape. Get fresh air
and consult a doctor if you feel unwell. The vapours may irritate the respiratory passages.
❐ Keep the charger away from rain or moisture. The ingress of water into a charger
increases the risk of an electric shock.
❐ Check the charger, cable and plug before each use. Do not use the charger if you fi nd
any signs of damage. Do not open the charger yourself and only have it repaired by
a qualifi ed expert and only using original spare parts. Damaged chargers, cables and
plugs increase the risk of an electric shock.
❐ Do not operate the charger on a highly fl ammable surface (e. g. paper, textiles etc.) or
in a combustible environment. There is a danger of fi re as a result of the heat which
emerges from the charger during charging.
❐ Supervise children. This will ensure that children do not play with the charger.

Personal Safety

❐ Danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
❐ Be careful! Pay attention to what you are doing, and work sensibly with the device. Do
not use the device if you are tired or under the infl uence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
❐ Wear suitable clothing and non-slip shoes. Do not wear any wide clothing or jewellery.
Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or
long hair may become entangled in moving parts.
❐ Familiarise yourself with the device before you fi rst use it. Make sure you know where
the On / Off switch is and how the device is switched on and off.
❐ Avoid accidental start-ups. Make sure that the device is switched off before you
connect it to the power supply and before you pick it up or carry it. Keep your fi ngers
away from the On / Off switch in order to prevent accidental start-up and accidents.
❐ Remove adjustment tools or spanners before you switch on the device to prevent
accidents.
❐ Avoid an abnormal posture. Make sure that you stand in a stable position and
maintain your balance at all times so that you will be better able to control the device
in unexpected situations.

The Proper Handling of the Device

❐ Check the cordless screwdriver and the charger for damage each time before putting
it into operation. Moving parts must function perfectly and must not get jammed or
