OPERATION

Always use the correct voltage: The voltage of the power source must match
with the values on the nameplate of the tool.
Switching On and Off
To start the tool, press the lock-out button and then press the on/off trigger switch.
This locks the tool into the "on" position. To turn the tool off, fully press then
release the trigger switch.
Tip: Test run
!
Check the grinding tool before use. The grinding wheel, disc or accessory must be
flawlessly mounted and be able to rotate freely. Perform a test run of at least 30
seconds without load. Do not use damaged or vibrating grinding tools.
Grinding
The best grinding results can be achieved with a 30° to 40° approach angle. Move
the tool back and forth with moderate pressure. In this manner, the work piece will
not over-heat nor discolour and no ridges will be formed.
!
WARNING! Never use a cutting disc for grinding.
Cutting
When cutting, do not press, tilt or oscillate the tool. Gently slide it forward with a
speed adapted to the material being worked on.
Do not brake down the cutting disc by slowing down to a stop by using side
pressure.
The cutting direction is very important. The tool must always work opposite to
the direction of rotation. Therefore, never move the tool in the other direction,
otherwise, there is the danger of it being pushed uncontrolled out of the cut.
When cutting profiles and square pipes, it is best to start with the smallest cross
section.
WARNING! Wheels used for cutting and edge grinding may break or kick-back if
they bend or twist while the tool is being used to do cut-off work or deep grinding.
!
To reduce the risk of serious injury, limit the use of these wheels with a standard
Type 27 guard to shallow cutting and notching (less than 1/2" in depth).
The open side of the guard must be positioned away from the operator.
